“Three years ago I hired Universal Masonry to do the concrete for my house. After only two years ago, I noticed parts of the concrete crumbling. Three years later the concrete is completely falling apart. It looks worse than the concrete that was done decades ago. I called Tony about this and he tried to avoid helping me for a month. He put me in a group text with the Island Ready Mix and said I needed to deal with him directly. Island Ready Mix came down to sample the concrete and I was told I had to wait for the results. I wasn’t sure what the purpose of the test was for but I believed they would do the right thing. After a month I realized I was just being jerked around. First they tried to tell me the concrete did this because of salting but I insisted that couldn’t be the case because the older concrete was fine. Then they both blamed each other. Tony blamed the concrete company. Island Ready Mix blamed him. Frank from Island Ready Mix said he would mediate the problem but I don’t really see that happening as he has stopped answering my text. In the end I’m not sure who is to blame for the terrible job but I feel very sorry for anyone who uses them in the future. I am very upset I wasted my money and now have to redo the job. The pictures don’t lie beware when hiring both companies.”
