“This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a trash company. To think I used to complain about JRM is insane today. Republic did not pick up my trash for most of the summer. My dumpster was overflowing with rotting trash at my business of which I had multiple complaints from neighbors because of the stench and the number of insects that it attracted. Through all this, they kept charging me! When I removed my card, they actually reached out to see about payment, which is hilarious considering they never reached out to resolve my trash problem. I understand that you guys had a strike, but to hold customers liable for payment with those awful contracts that you trick us into signing, this company is horrible. I advise anyone considering coming here, TO COMPLETELY AVOID THEM. PRICES ARE INSANE COMPARED TO COMPETITION. TILL THIS DAY, THE DUMPSTER IS STILL ON MY PROPERTY. THEY REFUSE TO TAKE IT, AND I HAD TO FINALLY SWITCH TO ANOTHER COMPANY, REMOVE THE TRASH AND PUT IT IN THE NEW DUMPSTER. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS!!”
“We have been transferred to Republic, and it has been a horrible experience. The prices were increased to ridiculous levels without prior notices. I was charged almost $ 300 for 6 yarders to be picked up on bi-weekly basis. I am able to get new services with almost half the prices. So, I tried to cancel services and that's when round robin started - Billing team to sales team. I got call from sales representative whom I asked to cancel services, but she didn't do it. I sent them email, message via their portal and online chat but no response. Now, it's been more than 3+ hours across two days that I am waiting to get hold of sales team to cancel. This is not ethical practices to not ignore customers who doesn't want to stay with them. I want the owners to think about it that would you waste this much time on call or would like to run your business? Day 2: Cancellation request is now with Sales rep, whom I spoke to in Feb and hasn't closed.”
“I haven’t paid too much attention on trash pick up bills. I recently discovered that Republic Services has been charging us $430 quarterly for trash pickup, total two trash cans, which amounts to nearly $135 per month. In contrast, a local competitor offers the same service for only $40 per month. This significant price disparity is alarming. Compounding the issue, when I attempted to cancel my service, I found it extremely difficult to reach their customer support to cancel the subscription. I was on hold for over 30 minutes, still did not get to talk to anyone. Had to hang up. This exorbitant pricing is unacceptable. I feel taken advantage of and strongly urge others to exercise caution when considering Republic Services.”
“Republic makes you sign a service agreement that binds you for three years at a time and renews automatically. In the agreement they reserve the right to change service fees without notice. There are also surcharges that get added to every invoice and those are different every time. In a few months my invoice increased by $80 a month. Once I contacted the rep to ask about the increases I was offered a new contract for another three years with a roughly $150 monthly fee decrease. The catch is that this doesn't last, once they have a new agreement they can raise the fees again at any moment and any number of times. Once I tried to terminate the contract they charged me a "Liquidated damages fee" worth six month of service, and another fee to come by and pick up their barrels. There are multiple class action law suits in progress against this company because what they are doing is illegal. Stay clear of them.”
