Republic Services Vienna Junction Landfill

“Go with Waste Management I had them for years in 3 different states I lived in with no issues. Unfortunately my city has a contract with Republic Services for refuse and recycling. They miss either the trash or recycling on the entire street at least once a month. Their trucks litter the entire neighborhood because they are old and retrofitted to handle the toters. So instead of picking them up and dumping them right into the truck (like the newer trucks designed for them do, even though they have been around for over thirty years apparently they are new to this area) they have to first dump them in a dumpster they carry with them, then they lift the dumpster to dump it in the truck when it's full. This usually results in trash blowing out and going everywhere if it's the least bit windy. Then when they miss pickup sometimes it's picked up 3 days late or not till next weeks service causing major parking headaches for on street parking as no one wants to block anyone's trash cans. Seriously it's ridiculous if you have a choice go with another company this one seems to have some major issues with equipment and staffing apparently. Today's update for 11-11-2025, the driver picking up recycling sees me coming down my driveway in my truck to leave as he's pulling up to empty my recycling can. I wait for him, and instead of dumping my can straight up into the truck he drives forward so it's in the middle of my driveway and dumps it, then drops it so it falls over right in the middle of my driveway. He looks at it and me and just drives away while it's blocking me now from leaving to pickup my son from school. Doesn't bother to stop saying sorry or anything just drives on. Oh and it's also a wind-chill of 24 degrees out. Maybe it's time to teach employees about customer service, ya think?”

“This Company is absolutely ridiculous. They picked up trash and recycling on one side of our street (Kedron) but did not on my side of the street this last Wednesday. My neighbor called and they stated they would be out the next day. Today is Saturday and ALL of us still have our bins out on the street and are waiting for pickup. Is there no Supervision to check this kind of stuff and follow through with our pickup??? Or do we just get lip service as usual?? We pay for a service to be fulfilled, not lip service and lack of follow through. Sorry is not an answer either!!”

“I'm still fuming about the trash situation. During the strike, we understood the cause and waited an extra week for pickup. But today, our can was skipped because it was deemed 'too high' – which is basically two weeks' worth of trash. If it had been collected last week, it wouldn't be overflowing now. To make matters worse, the trash collector claimed it 'ain't his problem' when I brought it up. Unbelievable! Do better! We pay for this service!”

“Once again, our recyclables was not picked up. This is the 2nd straight time that it wasn't picked up. I don't get ehat the problem is. It's not that hard to do your job, especially when the truck does all the work. So here we are loaded with a bunch of stuff that we are trying ro recycle, and the lazy people of republic do absolutely nothing. Anytime we call, we get the same lame response, we will get it tomorrow and yet notbing happens. Republic needs to be put out of business.”
