Next Day Dumpsters

“Next day Dumpsters was great all the way around from start to finish. I’m unable to recall all the names of all the folks that I worked with, but everyone made a significant difference in our ability to respond to the recent flooding impacts in Carrboro. Truly fulfilled the promise of the “Next Day” in Next Day Dumpsters. Tuesday, 7/8, I arrived from San Francisco to support my Ma through the flood. Understanding the importance of clearing the house as soon as possible, I tasked ahead and requested the largest dumpster on hand. Wednesday, it was delivered as expected first thing in the morning, but I was not able to respond to calls as my phone was silent and I was exhausted. Despite me not responding, the driver to guide the placement sensed the necessity of the dumpster and dropped it anyway. This meant not being charged a fee for a missed delivery, not spending more time resolving a problem on the phone while I was focused on the task at hand, and no delay in the work. The dumpster was dropped in right location not blocking any egress routes but was somewhat backward with the swinging door side on the opposite direction. (This would have been solved in the moment if I had been able to respond). Another driver of a different local dumpster company was able to flip the dumpster into a better position allowing us to proceed. As the dumpster was on site, we held its use for building materials, keeping it mostly empty through the week of clearing the home of furniture and household items. When we cleared the debris from the house on Sunday, 7/13, I put in a request for pick up for the first available schedule day of 7/16 and added the note to request for as soon as possible to clear the area. I got confirmation of pick up on Monday for 7/15, which was great! Driving had a truck issue, and I was promptly notified of the need to come on 7/16 instead. When checking in with dispatch before they arrived on 7/16, I shared the state of the small roads and constrictions and that the most ideal time would be an early morning pick up to miss most of the traffic of every mitigation company/volunteer services and other debris removal, and it would be best to be routed to the next day. This morning, 7/17, the dumpster was picked up and removed without issue. And again, everyone was so incredibly friendly along the way. And more than just friendly, each person made the right decision with the customer in mind not just the easy thing to do, making decisions with the person in mind.”
