“Would be real nice to FINALLY get my trash picked up like it’s supposed to. Missed everyyy single week, made numerous calls, countless live chats, emails you name it, get empty promises every time and, stilllll this is a hard task for your drivers. I am never picked up on time. It started happening once Waste Management took you over, wish they could have taken me too! How hard is it to be a garbage man? Lmao he has one job! Get it together! Guess, next step is escalate it…by contacting the actual City/County offices.”
“First and foremost, their service is a joke. Despite paying for weekly trash and recycling, I have to assume every pickup day is just a suggestion. My bins are regularly left sitting on the curb for days after their scheduled collection, leaving a stinking mess for my entire neighborhood to enjoy. When I call to complain, the customer service is useless—they give empty promises of a "make-up pickup" that never materializes, or they simply say "we're having issues" and offer no real solution. It's as if they have one job, and they've decided they're simply not going to do it. To add insult to injury, their billing is predatory. The price for this subpar service has inexplicably and repeatedly increased, with new, confusing "fees" showing up on every bill. When I call to question these charges, the customer service agents are unable or unwilling to provide a straight answer. It feels like they are actively trying to squeeze every last dollar out of you for a service they can't even be bothered to perform correctly. Republic Services has proven to be a company that does not care about its customers, its service, or its reputation. They are a classic example of what happens when a company has no competition and no incentive to be better. Avoid them at all costs if you have any other option.”
“They didn’t pick up my trash yesterday. Just skipped it, apparently, even though they picked it up for everyone else on the street. I called this morning, and the woman on the phone said there was no note on my account that there was any reason for it, and it was clearly just a mistake—which makes sense since I placed the bin in the same easily accessible curbside place as usual. She promised a truck would be along by 6pm. It’s now 7pm, the trash is still there, and it’s Friday, so I can’t call again until Monday—at which point, it will be a full four days since they were supposed to pick up my trash and didn’t bother. I just brought the bin back in so the neighbors don’t have to watch two weeks of trash pile up in the street (like during the strike). I’m wondering if I’ll get a credit on my bill since I pay for weekly services. Or because they are a monopoly, do they just have no accountability at all?”
“Our trash pick up is scheduled for Tuesdays. It is now Thursday. We have been keeping the trash in the house in the laundry room. It is disgusting now it smells so yesterday we opted to place it outside in thick plastic black bags we live out in the country, so of course, in the night animals came and tore everything open and made a huge mess on top of that. No one has picked up their trash cans yet from the front of their homes we do live in a rural area where this we have no sidewalks so our trash cans are basically placed on the road. To make matters even worse, big rigs pass by so fast that one can has fallen and created a huge mess of garbage, debris and is a huge hazard and liability. I pay the employees what they want! Why is this even an issue? If they demand better pay it is because they feel they deserve it. Look what’s happened because they have been on strike since Tuesday. WE NEED OUR TRASH MEN AND WOMEN!!!! Give the people what they want.”
“Trash isn’t getting picked up because Republic Services refuses to pay their workers fairly, the very people who handle hazardous waste daily. The employees are on strike (rightfully so), and instead of negotiating a fair deal, the company is letting entire cities pile up in garbage. Republic Services is showing us exactly what they value: profits over people, including their own essential workers and paying customers. It’s been nearly a week with no pickup, no accountability, and absolutely no regard for the communities they’re supposed to serve. If they can’t afford to pay their workers fairly, maybe they shouldn’t be in the waste management business. And yes, customers should be reimbursed. We didn’t sign up to live in a landfill while this company plays hardball with people’s livelihoods. Do better.”
